Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka Observes the Martyred Intellectuals Day
14 December is one of the saddest days in the history of Bangladesh. The day is observed with due solemnity in the country as Martyred Intellectuals Day. On this day many revered sons of the soil who were to lead the country, were cruelly killed with the goal of annihilating the intellectual class of what was then East Pakistan. Two days after the events of 14 December, on 16 December, Bangladesh became independent through the surrender of Pakistani forces.
On this day, The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka pays its deepest tribute to the brightest minds of the soil.
