MCCI Hosts Focus Group Discussion on Bangladesh’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI)
The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI), in collaboration with Policy Exchange of Bangladesh (PEB), and with the support of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on “Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) of Bangladesh” on 26 June, 2025, at its Gulshan office. Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Secretary-General and CEO, MCCI, offered the welcome remarks and moderated the discussion. Mr. Hasnat Alam, Economist and Senior Manager, and Mr. Hassib Hasan, Analyst and Programme Coordinator from PEB, gave a brief presentation on the PMI program in Bangladesh and its latest report. Following the presentation, an open discussion ensued, where the participants, who were the key respondents providing valuable insights for the PMI report, shared their perspectives. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from MCCI. Representatives from MCCI, PEB, and MCCI member firms attended the discussion.
