MCCI Holds FGD on Bangladesh Business Climate Index

The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI), in collaboration with Policy Exchange Bangladesh (PEB), organized a focus group discussion (FGD) on the “Bangladesh Business Climate Index (BBX)” report on 22 May 2025 at its Gulshan office. MCCI, in partnership with PEB, has been conducting the BBX initiative since 2021. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the BBX, highlight its significance in driving regulatory improvements, and solicit valuable feedback to further refine the Index’s scope and application. Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Secretary-General and CEO, MCCI, offered the welcome remarks and moderated the discussion. Dr. M. Masrur Reaz, Chairman and CEO, Policy Exchange Bangladesh, gave a presentation to introduce BBX to all. Later, an open discussion took place. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from MCCI. MCCI director Mr. Syed Tareque Md. Ali, along with representatives from MCCI, PEB, development partners, and the government attended the FGD event.
