Bangladesh Lamps Limited (BLL) was incorporated as a public limited company in 1960 as a subsidiary of PHILIPS, Holland. BLL is one of the pre-eminent manufacturers of electric light bulbs in the country. In March, 1993, PHILIPS sold its entire shares to TRANSCOM Limited. The company was then made a subsidiary of TRANSCOM Limited. The company’s shares are listed with DSE and CSE. Bangladesh Lamps principal operation is to manufacture and market electric bulbs and energy saving lamps. BLL produces and sells its products under three main brands Phillips Lighting, Transtec Lighting and Sainik Bulb.
