Presently the Vice-President of the Bangladesh Employers Federation and Chairman of the Tea Association of Bangladesh. Also a member of the Export Sub-Committee and the FTA & WTO Sub-Committees of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which liaises with the Commerce and Finance Ministries. A member of the general body of the FBCCI (Electoral College of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and a member of various sub-committees of the FBCCI.
Was a member of the Bangladesh Trade Delegation to Moscow in 1991 and again in 1993, which negotiated the credit repayments due from Bangladesh to Russia in the light of the dissolution of USSR. Was a member of the Trade Delegation from the Commerce Ministry to Poland and Hungary and represented the Employer’s Federation at the ILO in Turin. Has been on a number of national delegations since then.
