MCCI Organizes “Japan–Bangladesh Business Connect 2026”

The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) hosted “Japan–Bangladesh Business Connect 2026” at The Westin Dhaka on 3 August 2026. Organized with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and supported by the Japanese Commerce and Industry Association in Dhaka (JCIAD), the event aimed to strengthen business ties and explore future cooperation.

H.E. Mr. Shinichi Saida, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, attended as Chief Guest, while Mr. Shibir Bicitro Barua, Additional Secretary (IIT wing), Ministry of Commerce, was Guest of Honor. MCCI President Mr. Kamran T. Rahman delivered the welcome remarks.

Presentations were given by Mr. Kazuiki Kataoka, JETRO Dhaka Country Representative, and Mr. Syed Nasim Manzur, Former MCCI President. The networking session, moderated by MCCI Senior Vice-President Mr. Habibullah N. Karim, was officially commenced by Mr. Yuji Wagata, President of JCIAD. The event itself was moderated by Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Secretary-General and CEO, MCCI.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks from MCCI, bringing together representatives of the Bangladeshi and Japanese business communities in a meaningful step toward deeper collaboration.
