MCCI Launches Bangladesh Business Climate Index 2023-2024
On 30 May 2024, the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka formally launched Bangladesh Business Climate Index (BBX) 2023-2024 in an event at its Gulshan office. It is a joint publication of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) and Policy Exchange Bangladesh (PEB). BBX 2023-2024 is the third iteration of Bangladesh’s first home-grown index that gauges the country’s business climate. Mr. Salman Fazlur Rahman, M.P., Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Lokman Hossain Miah, Executive Chairman (Senior Secretary), BIDA, attended the event as Special Guest. Mr. Kamran T. Rahman, President, MCCI, delivered the welcome remarks. Mr. Zaved Akhtar, President, FICCI, and Mr. Yuji Ando, Country Representative, JETRO, took part in a fireside dialogue. Dr. M. Masrur Reaz, Chairman & CEO, Policy Exchange Bangladesh, delivered the keynote presentation. The event, which was moderated by MCCI Secretary-General and CEO Mr. Farooq Ahmed, came to a close with a vote of thanks from MCCI. Members of the business community, think tanks, line associations, and the media attended the event.
