MCCI Organizes Seminar on “Systematic Efforts to Understand Economic Pulse: Importance of Purchasing Managers’ Index”
The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI), in partnership with Policy Exchange Bangladesh (PEB), organized a seminar titled “Systematic Efforts to Understand Economic Pulse: Importance of the Purchasing Managers’ Index” at its Gulshan office on 19 January 2026. The objective of the seminar was to facilitate the broader understanding and effective utilization of the Purchasing Managers’ Index by the business community, financial institutions, and policymakers. Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Mr. James Goldman, Deputy High Commissioner and Development Director at the British High Commission in Bangladesh, attended as the Special Guest. MCCI President Mr. Kamran T. Rahman delivered the welcome remarks. Dr. M. Masrur Reaz, Chairman and CEO of PEB, delivered the keynote presentation. This was followed by an open forum moderated by Mr. Habibullah N. Karim, Senior Vice-President of MCCI. Later, the Chief Guest and the Special Guest made their respective remarks. The event ended with a vote of thanks from MCCI. Business leaders, economists, policymakers, analysts, and members of the media attended the event.
