The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) organized a stakeholder consultation on Food Labelling and Cosmetics Regulations on 5 October 2026 at its Gulshan Office. MCCI President Kamran T. Rahman delivered the opening remarks, stressing the importance of meaningful Government–private sector consultation in developing practical and effective regulatory frameworks.

The meeting featured presentations on the proposed Front-of-Pack Labelling (FoPL) framework under the draft Safe Food (Packaged Food Labelling) Regulations, 2026, and the draft Cosmetics (Licensing and Registration) Rules, 2026. The presentations outlined key provisions and their potential implications for the concerned industries.

Government and private-sector representatives, including stakeholders from the food, packaged food, and cosmetics industries, took part in the consultation. An open-floor discussion followed, allowing participants to share their views, concerns, and recommendations on the proposed regulations.
